Beautiful Semi Permanent Lips
Lip blushing is a form of semi-permanent makeup. Essentially, it is a cosmetic tattoo of the lips that enhances the beauty of the natural lip colour, improving the shape of the lips and giving definition.
Filler is great for creating volume in your lips, but lip blush delivers a more natural look and give the illusion of fuller lips.
I use the same machine as my brow procedures to implant the pigment into the skin. The results vary person to person. Generally, lip blushing can last several years, although your lifestyle contributes to how well it maintains; smoking and sun exposure can speed up the fading process, and if you’re oil-prone, have an iron deficiency or use a lot of exfoliating products in your skin regimen, the pigment could fade more quickly, too. We recommend top ups every 12 months.
What happens in an appointment? A topical anesthetic is applied to pre-numb the lips for 30 minutes. Afterwards, we will draw the shape of the “new” lips so that you can evaluate and make any changes. The procedure takes place over approximately 2 hours, if not longer, depending on the look you’re going for. Once the appointment is completed, your lips may be swollen, it is a tattoo, after all, so you can ice them if necessary.
What to expect at your appointment.
When you arrive for your appointment, you will be welcome by myself. I will apply numbing cream to the treatment area. It will take approximately 30-40 minutes for the area to become numb. During this part of the procedure, you will be asked to fill in medical and consent forms and we will begin your consultation.
We will discuss the colour and shape you would like and this is a good time to show any pictures of eyebrows or lips that you may have brought with you. We will advise and suggest a shape that suits you as an individual.
The numbing cream will then be removed, and the treatment area will be cleaned and disinfected. We will take a before picture at this point.
During the procedure.
- We will map the outline of your new eyebrows and once you have agreed on the shape, we will start the procedure.
- Throughout the treatment we may add additional numbing cream to minimise any discomfort.
- The whole treatment will take approximately 2/3 hours from start to finish, depending on the sensitivity of your skin and pigment retention.
- At 4-6 we will recommend a top up visit.
After the procedure we will discuss aftercare and the after photos will be taken. I will be available to offer support during the healing process and answer any questions you may have.
